The Story:
For 15 years I cruised and traveled through the Bahamas exploring the Out Islands. So many wonderful people I met and sights I saw. The Abacos, Marsh Harbour, Elbow Cay, Green Turtle Cay, Guana Cay, Man O' War Cay, The Exumas, Stocking Island, Nassau, Chub Cay and Southward.
This painting is a view from the North End of Elbow Cay when the ocean was wild and waves sent crashing foam to the coral rocks and pink sands. I could watch this for hours on end as the rhythmic waves came succinctly, and with powerful purpose. The turquoise hues were pleasing and enticing. The air was heavy with a salty perfume. Intoxicating.
